The First Rule

The First Rule is a mix of Punk, Alternative, and Rock. They combine anger with sensitivity, both lyrically and musically, while tackling subject matter that is personal, political, socially conscious, and fun. Drawing inspiration from a wide variety of artists including The Offspring, Bad Religion, Blink-182, and Weezer, the band crosses genres to create an original blend.

The First Rule is based out of Kenosha, WI. The group is made up of Nick O'Malley on vocals, Bo Ledman and Chelsey Corrin on guitars, Chris Shanahan on bass, and Mike Wynn Jr. On drums. What started as a musical collaboration project between founding members Nick and Chris in 2014, turned into a five-piece in 2015. They recorded their first album, "Street Fight", in 2016, also releasing a music video for the song, "Bully", in June of that same year.

While spending 2017 playing shows in Chicago, Milwaukee, and everywhere between, the band recorded their second album , "What Could Possibly Go

Wrong?", at Endless Summer Studios, which was released on October 13th, 2017, accompanied with a music video for "Can't Wait to be Famous" and lyric videos for "One Man Revolution" and "Dictator (We Elected A...)".

2018 has to brought more shows in Wisconsin and Illinois, including spots at Summerfest in Milwaukee, Kenosha Pride Fest and Taste of Wisconsin in Kenosha, and organizing the Rock Against Hate benefit for the group Life After Hate in Kenosha. All this while simultaneously recording a new 6 song EP which is due out in the fall.
