Thea Austin fits many categories: sultry diva, powerful vocalist, producer, lyricist, stunning beauty and international performer. Yet her music defies categorization and crosses all boundaries. She has been fronting bands, among them the Pop/Dance group SNAP, and honing her vocal skills since she was in her early teens.

 

Several years ago her want for vocal success brought her to Los Angeles, looking for a recording contract. She started out performing in bars and clubs then soon began gaining session work as a background vocalist.

 

After working on a various solo projects. A longtime friend Thea's vocal talent and introduced her to the SNAP organization. Thea was soon whisked to Germany to begin work on Snap's album The Madman's Return together with the rapper Turbo B. She not only sang, but co-authored many of the cuts.  

 

As the lead singer of Snap she took the world by storm with her first single, "Colour of Love" (Composed by Thea) soared into the Top Ten across Europe and reestablished Snap as a force to be reckoned with.

 

The second single the Thea composed was the iconic Pop, Dance hit called "Rhythm Is A Dancer". The song instantly took a firm grasp on the number one position on numerous charts ALL around the world.

 

After Michael Jackson witnessed Thea work the stage, it  came as no surprise that he asked her to be his opening act for the Dangerous Tour and HBO Special, where she played to more than 70,000 fans nightly.

 

Thea had a huge international dance hit with the song "I Can't Get Enough" under the name of SOULSEARCHER.

 

The song had massive crossover appeal from dance clubs to radio as it slammed in at #8 on the UK National Pop Charts and topped the US Dance Charts as well.

 

Her follow-up single "Do It To Me Again", which Thea co-wrote, went to #1 on the UK Club Charts and was a Top 20 hit on the UK Pop Charts. It should come as no surprise that Thea continued her winning streak, this time under the name PUSAKA, when she co-wrote the massive dance hit "You're The Worse Thing for Me (I'm Addicted)" with her friends, Chris Cox and DJ Irene.

 

When Thea is not singing, she is actively involved with charity work, which is why on Thursday, September 28, 2000, the City of West Hollywood proclaimed it "Thea Austin Day", for all of her work in the fight against AIDS.

 

Whether she's playing an intimate club or co-headlining Prince Charles' Prince's Trust's "Party in the Park" with Culture Club and BoyZone to over 170,000 people, Thea always brings an unforgettable style, energy, spirit and professionalism to the stage that puts her in a class ALL her own!

 

Get ready America as Thea is back in the studio, writing and working with some amazing new producers and plans on releasing several new songs in 2023 since she is blessed to have wrapped the “I Love The 90’s Tour”!

 

Thea makes her home in the Hollywood Hills.
