Kenosha Pride 2018 Post Event Release

For Immediate Release:

The Kenosha Pride, Inc. Board of Directors is excited to announce that Kenosha Pride 2018 was the most successful Kenosha Pride event to date. Kenosha Pride 2018 took place on Sunday, July 15, 2018 in Kenosha, WI. The two event day began with the Pride March which began at Library Park and ended at the Kenosha Pride Festival at Veterans Memorial Park.

The 6th Annual Kenosha Pride March began at 11:00am with gathering, sign making, and socializing. Shortly after 12:00pm the crowd was welcomed by Dan Seaver, President of Kenosha Pride, Inc. During the welcome Mr. Seaver recognized and allowed local politicians to briefly speak to the crowd, and recognized Alderman Anthony Kennedy who stopped by but was unable to stay for the event. Mr. Seaver then welcomed this year’s Grand Marshal, Alex Hart-Upendo. Mr. Hart Upendo is the Founder and CEO of Build-A-Bow. After acknowledging Tactical Response and Kenosha Police, the march stepped off. Throughout the march, cars honked in support and may people giving the march a thumbs up as they proceeded north on Sheridan Rd.

This year’s Kenosha Pride Festival welcomed many areas of growth. An expanded Marketplace welcomed over 25 vendors and exhibitors. The expanded Beer Tent welcomed a larger variety of beverages and more space to move around. Agadore Park, Kenosha Pride’s pet area, featured 5 vendors/exhibitors, as well as, water and pools for pets to cool down and refresh. Also new this year was the addition of a second stage, and the naming of the stages. The Stonewall Stage hosted the event closing Diva’s Drag Show and was run by returning Emcee NaTasha Roberts and returning DJ Lorax. The new Pulse Stage was hosted by both Audrina May-Munro and Ruby Sinthesky and welcomed DJ Haunt3d Hous3.
