New Location for the 5th Anniversary of Kenosha Pride

After starting the application process to host the 5th Anniversary of Kenosha Pride, the Board of Directors were informed that there would be construction taking place near Harbor Park Parcel A, the home of Kenosha Pride for the last 4 years. It was suggested by the City of Kenosha that an alternate location be chosen. After a meeting with City employees, including representatives from the Mayor's Office, Parks Department, City Engineer's Office, City Clerk's Office and the Fire Department, several options were weighed.

After careful consideration of the impact the construction could have on the location of Kenosha Pride's 5th Anniversary, Kenosha Pride's President, Dan Seaver, and Director of Government Affairs, Dayvin Hallmon, walked 4 different locations and envisioned what the grounds would look like with all the pre-planned activities, structures, and events. Finally narrowing the choice down to two locations, Veteran's Memorial Park was chosen as the location for the 5th Anniversary of Kenosha Pride. The park is across the street from Parcel A, close to several supporting businesses and the grounds allow for a comfortable layout of the event. The location and event were approved unanimously by the Parks Commission on May 8, 2017.
